Restricted Items / Dangerous Goods

Carriage of certain restricted items is an offence and may result in criminal prosecution under Section 10 of the Aircraft Act 1934. Any baggage or person carrying dangerous goods is subject to be reported as per rule 9A of the Aircraft (Carriage of Dangerous Goods) Rules, 2003.

FLY91 reserves the right to refuse carriage of Baggage with certain restricted items. A description of such items is set out below:
  1. Items inadequately packaged, lacking proper suitcases or suitable containers.
  2. Items likely to jeopardise the aircraft, individuals, or property on board, as stipulated in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and dangerous goods in accordance with local laws, applicable regulations, and Fly91's terms and conditions.
  3. Items whose carriage is prohibited by prevailing laws, regulations, or orders.
  4. Except as explicitly allowed in the Conditions of Carriage, explosives, fireworks, flares, pistol caps, swords, knives, and similar objects.
  5. Gases like compressed gases, liquefied gases, refrigerated liquefied gases, dissolved gases, flammable, non-flammable, and poisonous gases, including butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, avalanche rescue backpacks, and medical oxygen.
  6. Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, flammable paints, thinners, used camping stoves or fuel containers, used internal combustion or fuel cell engines, matches, fire-lighters, lighters requiring inversion before ignition or powered by lithium batteries, copra, sodium, potassium, etc.
  7. Oxidising substances and organic peroxides, e.g., bleaches, aluminium nitrate, etc.
  8. Toxic and infectious substances like pesticides, insecticides, weed-killers, potassium cyanide, samples for infectious disease testing, etc.
  9. Radioactive material.
  10. Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury, wet cell batteries, and apparatus containing mercury.
  11. Other dangerous substances and articles, including environmentally hazardous substances like magnetised materials, materials with narcotic, noxious, offensive, or irritating properties, and e-cigarettes.
  12. Small lithium battery-powered vehicles like air-wheels, solo-wheels, hoverboards, mini-segways, and balance wheels.
  13. Anything (including food or consumables containing seafood or any animal or bird elements) improperly packed that could cause leakage, spillage, or discomfort to other Customers.
  14. Anything emitting a conspicuous or offensive odour.
  15. Live or dead animals, birds, or insects unless expressly permitted in the Conditions of Carriage.
  16. Satellite phones and GPS devices unless proper authorisations have been obtained from BSNL for BSNL-provided INMARSAT satellite handsets (ISAT Phones), and from the Ministry of Home Affairs or Department of Telecommunications for other Satellite Phones or GPS devices, as applicable.
  17. Items deemed unsuitable for carriage based on weight, shape, size, or nature, according to FLY91's reasonable judgement.
  18. Any other item that may inconvenience or pose a safety hazard to Customers, at FLY91's sole discretion.
  19. Any other item prohibited for carriage on board, as notified by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) or any relevant authority.
